 ❧ First Impressions VISUAL: Alexandre is an Elezen, a race that are much taller than the average human. He stands at 210cm (almost 7 feet) in height, often resulting in a need to sit or bend down to see eye to eye with others. Due to the slim limbs of the Elezen, he is better described as long rather than tall. As a member of the Wildwood sub-race, he has superhuman eyesight and has potential to become an excellent archer. It's also noticeable that he has odd eyes. His right eye is a golden colour similar to his hair, while his left eye is clouded grey, with a scar under it on the left side of his face. His vision in that eye is impaired due to injury. Additional refs: 1 2 3 4 5 6 FASHION: Alex is an adventurer, thus he is long since used to the demands of frequent travel. He prioritizes utility in his gear above all else, but is not averse to decoration or intricacy if it can be afforded. He owns armour tuned to defend against various types of magic, and swaps them out as necessary. However, he will go for something a bit more stylish out of the line of duty. DEMEANOUR: Quiet. As befitting a malleable protagonist, he holds himself with silent dignity. However, his lack of small talk does not equate to lack of attention - he is very mindful of his surroundings, and displays a sharp perception of detail. It is rare to see him slouch or be sloppy in his work. SOUND: He does not talk very much. When he does, his voice is more gentle than expected from his features. SCENT: His adventurer work often brings him out into the wild and thus he smells like whatever he's been trudging through. However, he will keep himself clean if there is water and/or soap available to do so. MENTAL INFORMATION: Alex's greatest strength is his willpower, thus it is very difficult to telepathically control or influence him. He also possesses the Echo, an ability that lets him see into the past of others (involuntarily, and not always), as well as understand any language. On the other hand, he is easily readable as he does not have any defenses against mindreading. MAGICAL INFORMATION: Elezen are naturally talented at magic; however Alex has not had serious magical training and thus is only capable of casting a handful of spells. He feels normal, without any possession by voidsent or ghosts. He also carries two (or three, depending on canon point) soul crystals on his person. ❧ OOC BACKTAGGING: Hell yeah. I backtag into eternity. FOURTHWALLING: I'll pass on this one. PHYSICAL AFFECTION: Go ahead, but IC response may not be positive. PHYSICAL VIOLENCE: Same as above. Small tussling is fine but I'd like any permanent injuries to be discussed first. ❧ Opt-Out I play Alex in two variations: one as his canon's protagonist, the Warrior of Light, or as an ordinary adventurer. ❧ Echo Permissions
Alexandre is in possession of the Echo ability, which allows him to glimpse into the pasts of other people and of locations. However this is not voluntary and he cannot control what he sees. He is also able to perceive the surface intentions and emotions of others if they are in physical proximity.
Please let me know if you're okay with playing with this ability! Commenting here would let me keep a list. If your character has magic or training that would block the Echo, note it here as well and I'll keep it in mind.

YOU CAN USE THIS ON HER FOR SURE her history is in her app! Some glimpses of her past include a shitty one-bedroom, carpentry and construction, her dad, lots of odd jobs around facilities, learning to weld, etc. There's also fear and frustration and worry versus a ghostmonster that's all teeth and eyes and tentacles (hi Rosa) and the briefest glimpses of the tearing emotions of a darker, older ghostly presence.
Jan herself probably has whatever emotions you are ascribing to her from my tags at any given moment. I don't play many characters who can hide their feelings well.

Akira has some crazy and dark things in his past that could be incredibly fun for him to have pulled to the surface..... if Alex would be the type to gently nudge conversations in that direction??
Intentions-wise, he will always match what he's doing (i.e. he is trying to save Alex because he genuinely wants to keep him alive!), but his... emotions... are usually much more chaotic than he lets on. He's forcing himself to appear calm, and all that fun stuff.

The way I work with it is that I usually only have Alex be aware of what you write in tags in bracket text, so it's very mild and I can shut it off if you wish! In canon, the responsiveness of others to his empathic ability also varies, and there are people whom he can't read.

Secondly, I think it will be interesting to see how the two of them are around each other. In terms of predicting how Kylo will react, I think he'll be wary at first -- Snoke has been in his head since infancy and he's only just gotten rid of that influence, rather violently at that -- but at the same time comes from a Force Sensitive family and presumably spent a lot of time around other Force Sensitives, so the fact that Alex is unable to just stop doing it is something that he will definitely believe and factor in to his interactions with him.
